The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the current edition of the Racing Rules of Sailing, as modified by Appendix E, the QCMYC Standard Sailing Instructions and the SeaWind Class Rules.
Any owner/operator of a class-legal SeaWind Class yacht registered with the SeaWind Class Owners Association who is also a current member of the Queen City Model Yacht Club may participate. See class website for QCMYC membership requirements.

No registration is required to participate in this event. Eligible competitors who compete on Race Days will be scored.
There is no entry fee for this event.

No Skipper’s Meeting will be held for this event.
Racing will be conducted as outlined in the QCMYC Standard Sailing Instructions. In the event that a Race Day has more than 18 entries, the odd-even system may be employed for that particular Race Day.
All races will be held on Saturday mornings starting promptly at 10am. Depending on weather, a maximum of eight (8) races will be run on each of the following dates:
- March 11th
- March 18th
- April 1st
- April 8th
- April 15th
- April 22nd
- April 29th
- May 13th
- May 20th
- May 27th
Any of the above Race Days may be cancelled due to weather. The official weather site for this regatta will be www.weather.com If the hourly forecast for Pineville, NC at 10am on the day of the race is below 40 degrees or less than 3mph of wind, the Race Day will be cancelled. This determination will be based on the forecast that is published at 8pm, the night before race day. Races cancelled due to weather will not be rescheduled.
One (1) discard for every eight (8) races completed during the regatta.
The regatta will be scored in accordance with the Low Point Scoring system as set forth in Appendix A of the Racing Rules of Sailing. A minimum of 5 boats are required for a race to be scored. A minimum of 8 races constitutes a regatta.
Measurement and Inspection:
All boats may be subject to inspection, to include weighing, before or at any time during the regatta in order to verify compliance with SeaWind Class Rules.
Prizes will be awarded for Race Day winners and the top 3 overall scores for the entire series. Prizes will consist of a pat on the back and the admiration of your fellow sailors.
Food and Beverages:
An awards cook-out may be held at the conclusion of the Regatta
Pineville Lake provides a powered shelter and restrooms adjacent to the race area.
Parking is plentiful.
All competitors are expected to conduct themselves in a polite and friendly manner. Aggressive shouting, cursing and personal attacks will not be tolerated. If repeated after a warning, a 4-point non-excludable penalty will be assessed.
